The rail journey between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury takes no more than 50 minutes. Sit back and take in the stunning Limpley Stoke Valley.

Bristol Temple Meads to Westbury is the start of the spectacular Heart of Wessex line to Weymouth. Journey through some of the most stunning countryside to ever be seen from a train window. Along the way, stop off at Keynsham, to enjoy the towns mix of culture, cafe’s and regular Farmers Market. Bath Spa is a UNESCO World Heritage City, with its rich history built around the naturally occurring hot spring water.  Visit the Roman Baths, admire the impressive Georgian architecture and round off a day with some relaxation at the modern Thermae Spa.

The scenic journey continues through the beautiful Limpley Stoke Valley. Highly acclaimed pubs are perfect for a pitstop if hopping off at Freshford, or at Avoncliff – also a great place for a saunter along the canal. Finally, onto Bradford-on-Avon, a picturesque town that’s got everything, from the stunning Tithe Barn to picturesque streets with boutique shops and an array of independent cafes and restaurants .

The whole line is an adventure waiting to unfold, with nature, stories, and beauty at every turn.  Why not venture further afield to explore the rest of the Heart of Wessex Line, with stunning Somerset and Dorset scenery and the option of a traditional seaside day out at Weymouth.
