Vacancy: Arts Coordinator

We are looking for someone passionate about creative community engagement to join our small team to help continue the delivery of our successful arts programme on and around the local rail network.

Location: Hybrid – covering South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath & North-East Somerset, North Somerset and part of Somerset, and home working.

Hours: Casual worker agreement.

Salary: 17.00 per hour

Benefits: Flexible working, access to employee assistance programme.

Severnside Community Rail Partnership is a not-for-profit organisation helping local people and communities get the most from their railways, across all routes radiating from Bristol Temple Meads station. Community rail is a unique and growing grassroots movement made up of 75 community rail partnerships (locally based community organisations), 1,300 station volunteer groups, and other community-led initiatives across Britain.

Our Partnership has a strong focus on helping people to access the railway and to make their local station a welcoming gateway to their neighbourhood. We currently have four projects funded for delivery between May and December 2026, which we estimate will take twenty-five days of coordination. We have an evolving arts programme; our intention is to continue to secure funding for and to deliver more creative projects in the future.

The Arts Coordinator will lead the development, coordination, and promotion of arts-based projects across the Severnside Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) network. Working with local communities, artists, schools, volunteers, local authorities, train operating companies, and cultural organisations, the postholder will use creativity to improve stations, enhance passenger experience, promote local culture, and support social inclusion objectives.  The role helps the Partnership to strengthen community engagement, enhance station spaces, celebrate regional identity, and encourage more people to use rail services through inspiring arts initiatives. Please read the full Arts Coordinator Job Description and Personal Specification
